Portfolio

My interest in architecture began when my family and I were visiting my Aunt in 2009. She was renovating her house, and when I saw the blueprint to the new model of her house, I was amused by the design. These geometrical shapes modeling a 3D structure, seemed so wonderful to me that as soon as I went home, I drew my own blueprint. It wasn’t professional looking of course, but a little part of me knew that this is what I wanted to do when I grew up.

The fascination I had developed with architecture grew as I visited several architecturally magnificent structures such as the Empire State Building, the Parliament Building of Bangladesh, Sixty Dome Mosque etc. These inspired me to view several more structures on the internet, which grew my interest further in modern architecture. I hope to study my Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and become an architect by profession. That way, I can learn about different aspects of architecture and pursue my dream of designing structures that are equally magnificent and functional.

Few months ago, I visited an old palace in my country. It had really inspired me. From the statues to the garden structure to the intricate details, everything about it was absolutely amazing. It added to my fascination of vintage architecture. Although, another type of architecture that excites me is modern architecture, especially ones with geometrical structures. And even though I'm not sure if the famous 'Empire State Building' falls in that category, it is one of my favourite buildings, at least out of the ones I have had the pleasure of seeing. But from the ones I have yet to experience in person, I would like to visit the Burj Al Arab, I have seen it a number of time on Tv ofcourse, but it sure would be a whole other thing to see in person.

I prefer to study in MSA, so that I get opportunity to work with an experienced team, and learn from skilled and excellent Professors. It would also be an entirely new experience in a different environment for me. English, being my second language, is well practiced both at home and at school. And since the medium of study for all the subjects I have ever studied at school, with the exception of Bengali Literature and Language, were in English, I won’t have any problem taking a course being taught in English Language.

Architecture has fascinated me for years now, and to be able to pursue a career in the field I am fond of is truly amazing. So I want to build a great experience and gain knowledge about things I am yet to learn as well as to use my strength in sketching, painting and problem solving to assist me to create a path in architecture.
